(Via business-standard.com) The ambitious ambitious ‘Make in India‘ campaign enacted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making a push to sell India as a potential investment ground for the ever controversial growth and development of genetically modified (GM) crops. In the “Reasons to Invest” section of the biotechnology sector posted on the campaign’s official website a statement reads: “India has the potential to become a major producer of transgenic rice and several genetically modified (GM) or engineered vegetables.”
