(Via medicalxpress.com) Plymouth University has received more than £400,000 in funding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to research into how neural stem cells differ from each other. The project is a collaborative effort between researchers from Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Biomedical and Healthcare Sciences, the University of Cambridge and the Scripps Research Institute, California USA. The research could eventually lead to advancements in treatments for conditions such as dementia and brain tumors.
